If premier league wants to be the force it is, they should immediately sanction City and relegate them to the lowest league. Only in that case, the sanctity will prevail.

If City get off from this, premier league will not be the same. People will look at premier league as serie A. People will lose faith in the football games. All clubs will suffer just because of City. So they must be relegated to the lowest league as an example.

🚨 JUST IN: MANCHESTER CITY HAVE APPEALED THE PREMIER LEAGUE VERDICT 😳🔵 City were found guilty by an independent commission of serious financial rule breaches covering nine seasons from 2009/10 to 2017/18. The club strongly denies the accusations and says the commission’s decision contains “clear material errors” of law, principle and fact. City also say they have a “comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence” supporting their position. The appeal will now be heard by an independent Appeal Board, with proceedings remaining private until the outcome can be published. The case is NOT over yet. 🔵

The paper is in. City lodged the appeal Thursday at 7pm BST. The Premier League confirmed Friday it is with the Judicial Panel Chair. The club says the opinion has clear material errors of law, principle and fact, and that City are innocent. The hearing stays private until they can publish an outcome. No sanction has been decided. Anfield is still Sunday 11 October, 16:30 BST.

This is disgusting and further reason why City’s owners need to be banned from football! If they were innocent like they claim they wouldn’t be making all these treats… accept ur punishment and move on you cheats!

For #ManCity's appeal against the Premier League's verdict, a five-day hearing - as per the top-flight handbook - must conclude within 12 weeks. Upon conclusion, there must be a verdict within 30 days. @ManCity's appeal on Thursday evening means the deadline for the hearing to have taken place is Christmas Eve. [@SamLee/@CWeatherspoon_]

Thomas Tuchel on England's #ManCity players amid the Premier League situation: "Are they worried or concerned? I think that would be a very human reaction if you don't know what's going on for the club you signed. They're still young, ambitious. "They're told they're totally innocent and don't know what's going on. We speak about it at dinner at a table of eight or 12 people. Of course, we speak about it..." [via @Jack_Gaughan]

I don’t think the FA should be too harsh on them. Just deduct 30 points for each of the next 4 seasons, vacate their last 3 EPL titles and award them to the second place, then give them a four-year transfer ban. That should be enough. Please, don’t be too harsh on them. 🙏🙏

"The Club’s firm position is that, on multiple grounds, the opinion contains clear material errors, of law, principle and fact and is unsafe." "The Club is innocent of the accusations made by the Premier League and a comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence exists in support of all of its positions, relating to this case." "We will continue to respect due process and are necessarily restricted in what we can say further until all proceedings are completed."
