China's AI bubble is showing what happens when hype outruns reality. Its STAR50 tech index plunged nearly 40% in under 4 months, wiping out ~$480B in market value. AI may be the future, but valuations still matter. Is this a warning for the rest of the world? #AI #china

Google expands advertisements in AI Mode to Kenya! On 28 October 2026, Google announced the expansion of ads in AI Mode to 10 additional countries, including Kenya, Nigeria, Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines and Singapore. AI Mode allows users to ask detailed questions and explore topics through follow-up searches. According to Google, searches in AI Mode are, on average, three times longer than traditional search queries. What does this mean for advertisers? Existing Search, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns are automatically eligible to serve ads in AI Overviews and AI Mode, subject to Google's requirements. Both text and Shopping ads can appear in these AI-powered search experiences, clearly labelled as Sponsored. Google is also introducing ads within follow-up conversations, currently limited to the United States. Kenyan advertisers now have an opportunity to reach potential customers as they research, compare products and explore options through AI-powered search. This is another important development in how AI is changing search behaviour and digital advertising. https://t.co/a8rKsNu0S2

AI could change the world and still be a terrible investment at today's valuations. The dot-com era taught us one lesson: revolutionary technology doesn't guarantee every company survives. Is the AI boom building sustainable businesses—or another bubble?
