  • Cadence’s new physical AI workstream pivots chiplet design from server to rack‑level, prompting US hyperscalers to reconsider EU approaches and raising regulatory concerns for US firms[1]
  • Uber recorded only four AI‑agent‑booked rides during its busiest week last quarter, the clearest labor‑impact evidence reported this week[4]
  • Meta acquired startup Conductor, which enables developers to run multiple AI coding agents in parallel; the team joins Meta Superintelligence Labs and Conductor Cloud will shut down on Nov 20[19]
  • Nigerian health‑tech firm Helium Health received a $2.5 million grant to expand AI‑powered maternal healthcare across Nigeria[18]
  • A Democratic lawmaker introduced a bill to ban artificial superintelligence on day one of the party’s agenda, originally introduced by Bernie Sanders and Rep. Greg Casar in September[34]
  • Local AI‑data‑center opposition is gaining traction: 43 of 44 communities voted for a moratorium recently, and a Texas representative labeled AI data centers as exploiting local communities[75][77]

Cadence's new physical AI workstream pivots chiplet design from server to rack-level, forcing US hyperscalers to rethink strategies in the EU. Good for Cadence and regulatory bodies; bad for US firms struggling with compliance. Expect stricter AI... https://t.co/H7btKpRZlg

Uber logged four AI-agent-booked rides during its busiest week last quarter, per TechCrunch. Four, company-wide. That number is the cleanest labor evidence on the wire this week, and it cuts both ways. What AI already does at Uber is not the booking. It is matching, surge pricing, ETA prediction, fraud scoring, and first-line support triage. Those jobs were automated years ago and are not coming back. The headcount exposure there is support agents and ops analysts, and it is mostly already priced in. What AI is not doing is acting as the customer. Agentic booking requires payment credentials, route authority, and someone to eat the chargeback when the agent picks the wrong pickup point. None of that is a model capability problem. It is auth plumbing and liability allocation, and neither ships on a model release cadence. The non-obvious read: this is a demand-side signal, not a supply-side one. Every slide projecting agents rerouting consumer transaction volume assumes a handoff that four people made. Uber's in-app ad business depends on humans scrolling a screen, and this quarter says that surface is not under threat yet. Second data point in the same direction: Apple is reportedly cutting what it spends on AI tooling for its engineering teams, per TechCrunch. Internal seat budgets get trimmed when measured output gain sits below list price. Testable line: no major consumer marketplace will disclose agent-booked share above 1% of transactions before the end of 2027. AI can run the dispatch stack today; it still cannot be the customer.

Meta has bought Conductor, the startup that lets developers run several AI coding agents like Claude Code and Codex in parallel. The team joins Meta Superintelligence Labs. Terms weren't disclosed, and Conductor Cloud shuts down November 20. https://t.co/pPQss6S1w8 #Meta #AI

BREAKING: A Democratic lawmaker wants banning artificial superintelligence to be day one of the party's agenda now that they've taken Congress. The bill already exists. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Greg Casar introduced it in September. It bans developing or deploying superintelligence and pauses advanced AI development entirely. The penalties: a "corporate death penalty" for companies, and up to 20 YEARS IN PRISON for individuals.

7 months ago, AOC and I introduced an AI data center moratorium. Last night, 43 of 44 communities voted for one locally. Americans don’t want Big Tech oligarchs wrecking the environment, gutting jobs and threatening humanity’s future. NATIONAL DATA CENTER MORATORIUM NOW
